- I capped the registration for my event at 415. 420 people have registered, but the waitlist reads 0. Why is this?
- Can I limit registration to a particular group of people?
Only if everyone in that group has a UNI. To do this, you can upload a list of UNIs under the yellow "invitee" tab once you have enabled registration and checked the "UNI required" box. This list of UNIs must be a Comma Separated Values file (CSV).
- I would like someone other than the registrant to receive an email notification that they have registered. How do I do this?
This feature is not currently available in Sundial. To make a feature request, please email rias@columbia.edu.
- Someone in my department has left the University. How do I transition their Sundial permissions to me?
Yes. You can create a registration field titled "number of tickets" and allow registrants to enter or select the number of tickets they would like. For more information on how to do this, please see Enabling Registration.
- How do I set-up a waitlist? How does the waitlist feature work?
From the yellow "registration" tab under "Edit Event," scroll to "Advanced Registration Options." Check the box next to "Enable waitlist" and enter the cap on the waitlist (enter 0 for unlimited waitlist spots). Please note that waitlist management is manual. If a confirmed registrant cancels, you will need to manually change a waitlisted registrant’s status to confirmed. You can do this on the "Manage Registrants" page of your event.
- If someone is waitlisted, how do I change their status to confirmed? Will they get an email notification that they are no longer waitlisted?
To change a registrant’s status from waitlisted to confirmed, use the "Manage Registrants" tab of your event. Check the box next to the registrant's name and then select "Activate." The registrant will receive a second confirmation email informing them of their confirmed status.
- I am receiving an error message when I try to register for my event. What is wrong?
Most likely, your registration dates are not set properly. On the yellow "registration" tab, check that you have set the appropriate registration start and end dates/times. Also ensure that you have checked the "enable registration" box at the top of the page. If you continue to experience difficulties, please email sundial-help@columbia.edu with an explanation of the problem and the event ID# for the event.
- I need to change something in my registration form, but I already have registrants. How do I do this?
It is tricky (but possible) to change a registration form once you have one or more registrants. In order to edit your registration form, you must export your registrants into a spreadsheet (from the "Manage Registrants" tab) and select "clear all registrants" (also on the "Manage Registrants" tab). Then return to your "registration" tab (under "Edit Event") and make the changes you need to your form. Once you have completed your changes, you can re-import your previous registrants using the "import" button on the "Manage Registrants" page.
It is advised to disable registration for the event while you are making updates to your registration form and enable registration after the updates are performed. If you do not disable registration during editing, new registrants, who register after you have exported the registrant list, will be lost
- I capped the registration for my event at 415. 420 people have registered, but the waitlist reads 0. Why is this?
The 420 people includes people who have cancelled their registration prior to the registration cap being reached. Under the "Manage Registrants" tab, look at the number of registrants classified as "Active." If your waitlist has not been started yet, this active number of registrants will be below your registration cap.
