Sundial has the ability to connect your events to accounts established with Gift Systems. You need to obtain the following information from Gift Systems:
- Allocation code (five digits)
- Division identifier
- Premium code (for all events with non-gift items)
On the "Registration" page of the Sundial event editor, under "E-Commerce", you will find a set of fields for this information, enabled by the "Use Gift Systems" button. When this information is provided, e-commerce transactions will not be processed by your merchant account for this event, unless no gift component is included.
This enables a series of features in the registration form creator. You can specify whether or not each event field represents a gift item, and specify what portion of it constitutes a "premium" (the non-tax-deductible portion of the cost).
Please contact Gift Systems if you are unsure of the tax status of any item associated with a Sundial event. Sundial will provide receipts to your registrants indicating the tax-deductibility of their donation based on the information that you provide.
Note: If you are hosting an event and you would like to give invitees the option of making a donation without RSVPing for the event, it is recommended that you utilize the University's online giving page rather than seeking to process donations without registration in Sundial.
