How to Set an Event's Publication Status for a Target Audience

There are two areas in which event approvers may manage the publication of events for their target audiences:

  • Publication Manager

The Publication Manager allows approvers to manage the publication status of 1) a single event across all target audiences for which they are approvers and 2) all events for a single target audience.

  • The Event Manager's Publish Event Area:

The "Publish Event" area of the "Event Manager" allows an approver to manage the publication status of a single event across all target audiences for which they are approvers.

Within the Publication Manager

  1. Within the Event Navigator, click the yellow Publishing button. The "Publication Manager" window will open displaying the target audiences for which you hold the approver role.

Note: This option only appears for those who are an approver for one or more target audiences.

  2. The default view of the Publication Manager is to group events by target audience. Expand the audience for which you wish to set an event's publication status.

  3. Locate the event within the expanded target audience's publishing queue. Place a checkmark by the event.

  4. Click the appropriate publication decision from amongst the actions presented. The list will refresh and display the changed publication status of the event to its target audience.

  5. If you wish to freeze a publishing decision to prevent Sundial's publishing workflow system from later changing your decision, again place a checkmark by the event.

  6. Click the freeze decisions button within the actions area. The list will again refresh and display the changed publication status of the event

Within Event Manager > Publish Event

  1. Open the event for which you wish to set its publication status with respect to one or more target audiences. The event will open within Sundial's Event Manager.

  3. From the list of views presented for the "Publish Event" action list, select "Decisionable". The list of audiences for which you are an approver and can set an event's publication status will appear.

  4. Place a checkmark next to each target audience for which you want to make a publication decision.

  5. When finished selecting audiences, click the appropriate publication decision from amongst the actions presented. The list will refresh and display the changed publication status of the event to the target audiences you selected.

  6. If you wish to freeze a publishing decision to prevent Sundial's publishing workflow system from later changing your decision, place a checkmark by the target audiences for which you wish to freeze your decision.

  7. When finished selecting audiences, click the freeze decisions button within the actions area. The list will refresh and display the changed publication status of the event.
