Adding Media to Your Event
Sundial allows you to insert media into your event listing, such as jpeg images, pdfs, or other documents. Media is first uploaded into Sundial on the "Media" page. Much like you would add an attachment to an email, the media page prompts you to upload media from your computer files to the Sundial application. There is a 2 megabyte file size limit on media uploads.
Upload Media
To upload media to Sundial, please do the following:
- Open the "Media" page using the yellow "media" tab under "Edit Event."
- Create a name for the file you are going to upload (this name will not be visible to the calendar viewer at any time).
- Click the "browse" button and find the media file.
- Select the file and click the "upload" button.
Note: this feature works best if you upload the file directly from your computer instead of from a web source such as PhotoBucket.
Insert Media into Your Event Listing
Once the file is uploaded, you can insert the media into the event listing in several ways:
- Set primary: with one click you can insert the media in the "primary position" of your event listing. Most often, this is just to the left of the title, but it may vary according to branding.
- Click the checkbox next to the desired media file.
- Click the "set primary" button in the menu bar.
To take media out of the primary position, click the checkbox next to the file and click "clear primary."
To remove the media file from the application, click the checkbox next to the file and click "remove."- Media Palette: Once the media is uploaded, you can insert the media into the full description field on the "Event Info" page:
- Go to the "Event Info" page under "Edit Event."
- Place your cursor in the text box wherever you would like the media to be inserted.
- Click on the "media palette" button on the text box menu. The media page will then pop up.
- Choose the media file you wish to insert.
- Choose the size of the file. "Icon" is generally large; "thumb" is generally small.
- Click the "insert" button.
- Close the "Media" box.
- You will see the code for the media file inserted in the text box. You may copy and paste this code elsewhere in the full description if you would like to change the location of the image.
- Click save on the "Event Info" page.
- View the event posting to verify that the placement of the media is correct.
Please note: you can insert documents (i.e. .doc, .pdf) in icon form into the text box. The viewer will then be able to click on the icon and open the file.
To remove media from the full description box, simply erase the code and click "save."
