Action Lists
Since much of the information in Sundial is organized in list form, a key means of managing this information is via an "action list". Action lists present a list of items and the actions that might be performed on them. Action lists consist of the following four areas:
- List Area
- Actions Area
- Views Area
- Search Area
The List Area
In the List Area, related items (e.g. "users", "groups", "audiences") are present in a table. Each row of the table represents a single item. The columns of the table represent attributes of the item or actions that can be performed solely on that item.

Clicking on a column header will sort the table according to that header, in either ascending or descending order.
Within some lists, sub-categories of information are collapsed under a broader heading (e.g. Law School Calendar and individual event entries.) These headings may expand (using
) or collapse (using
).

The left-most column of a list is always the name of the item. In most action lists, the name of an item is a clickable link to a page providing further options for managing that item.
In some lists, the first row offers one the ability to create a new item by providing a "Create new <Item Name>" link within the "Name" column.

A checkbox precedes all items. By checking off an item's checkbox, one selects that items and indicates that they wish to apply one of the actions listed in the Actions Area to the checked item.
The Actions Area
The Actions Area of an action list appears to the left of the List Area. It offers different actions to be applied to items selected within the List Area. To perform an action, select items within the List Area (by checking their checkboxes) and click on an action in the Action Area (e.g. "Activate", "Disable").

The Views Area
The Views Area of an action list provides different views of the items. Selecting a view will filter information in the list so that only those items with specific attributes (e.g. "only show active Users") will be visible.

The Search Area
The Search Area of an action list allows one to further filter the list of items by searching for one or more keywords contained in the name or description of the item.
