Virtual Merchant Account Set-Up

A Virtual Merchant account with Elavon, the University's preferred vendor, is required to utilize the e-commerce or Gift Systems registration options.  Please take the following steps to activate a Virtual Merchant account and sync your account with Sundial:

Managing Registrants

The blue "manage registrants" tab allows you to manage the registrants for your event.

Managing an Existing Event

To find an event listing that you have already created, use the calendar on the home screen. You can filter this calendar by your group or by one of your types using the “event filter” button in the top right corner. Click on the event name to view and edit the listing.

Registration Form Set-Up

This section allows you to customize the fields in your registration form. A “field set” is a collection of registration fields. You can use a pre-existing field set (selected from the “Initialize” menu) or create a new field set that is unique to the event.

Important Notes

Enabling Registration

The registration feature serves a similar purpose as an RSVP list.  Through registration, individuals can fill out a customized registration form to RSVP for your event and purchase services or tickets for the event.  You can then manage and export the registrant information from Sundial.  To utilize the advanced registration feature, click on the yellow "registration" tab beneath "Edit Event."

E-Commerce

Important Note: At this time, Sundial cannot process international credit cards.  If you expect registrants to pay with international credit cards, please contact the Office of the Treasurer for an alternate solution.

Publishing an Event

The Publish Event tab of Sundial's Event Manager provides the tools necessary to manage the publication of an event to target audiences. It is composed of the following three screens:

Log

The "Log" screen shows a record of an event's creation within Sundial and all subsequent modifiacations to it. In table form, the log records the name and user ID of the event editor and the date and time of the modification(s). It also shows the location and content of the modification(s). You can sort information using column headers. In the table, user names are also links that will allow you to email the event editor.

Copy / Paste

Copy / Paste

The "Copy / Paste" page allows you to either duplicate an event in entirety or copy event information into a clipboard to be pasted into another event entry.

Duplicating an Event

To duplicate an event, click the create duplicate button. An exact copy of the event with a new event ID number will then be added to the Sundial database with the word "copy" included in the title.

Duplicating an event will automatically place it in the clipboard.

Adding Media to Your Event

Sundial allows you to insert media into your event listing, such as jpeg images, pdfs, or other documents. Media is first uploaded into Sundial on the "Media" page. Much like you would add an attachment to an email, the media page prompts you to upload media from your computer files to the Sundial application.  There is a 2 megabyte file size limit on media uploads.
